Ruwin Pieris, Sri Lanka The Club is delighted to announce the signing of a professional for the 2004 season. He is Gorakanage Ruwin Prasantha Peiris, the 33 year old Sri Lankan from Colombo, who is an experienced left hand batsman and orthodox slow left arm bowler. He has a pedigree in local cricket, having played for Middleton in the Central Lancashire League in recent seasons, and in seven seasons in this country, has scored over 8,000 runs.

He has represented Sri Lanka 'A', and in the 2001-2002 season, was the leading run scorer in Sri Lanka.
